Summer begins here

The suitcases are almost packed, the kids are counting down the days until vacation, and you’re still trying to figure out where to spend those first few weeks of summer? We’ve got an idea. In Charmey, the season is in full swing, the sun is shining, and the summit of Vounetz is just waiting for you.

At the summit, everyone plays

Take the gondola up, and the kids already know where they want to go. Head to the Slide Trail: 7 slides linked together in a course that’s one-of-a-kind in Switzerland, for ages 8 and up. Heart-pounding descents, tight turns, breathtaking views, and the urge to go back up right away.
For the little ones, the Kids’s Hill is a space where they can run, explore, and play with giant marbles and footprint games. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can take a breather. And for those who aren’t quite ready to give up their pacifiers, don’t worry, the Dummy Tree and Titounet the Rabbit are there to welcome them and offer a gentle little ritual, at their own pace.
For kids who still want to play after the slides, Playa del Charmey is the perfect spot: sandy areas at an altitude of 1,627 m, with views of the mountain peaks. A mountain-style sandbox—they love it.

Things are hopping at the midway station, too

Teens bored in the deck chairs? The Ropes park has them covered. With several forest courses tailored to different ages and skill levels, there’s something for everyone—from the cautious to the daredevils.
And for a treasure hunt-style adventure, the Dahu game takes place entirely at the midway station: a series of challenges and puzzles to solve as a family—pick up the kit at L’Embarcadère. Perfect for budding little explorers.

There’s great food, too

At the summit, Restaurant Le Vounetz serves gourmet, locally sourced dishes. On Sundays, brunch with a panoramic view of the Pre-Alps has become a tradition for many families from the region and beyond.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, the mountain takes on a whole new dimension with night time openings: the gondola runs until 10:30 p.m. For those who want to end the day under the stars, it’s magical.

How about making this your summer headquarters?

Charmey is open every day starting May 14. And between the slides, the tree-top adventure course, the beach, the hikes, and the night sessions, you’ll really need several visits to do it all. Which works out perfectly, doesn’t it?
And that’s not all—lots of activities and events await you all summer long!
