Trail Vounetz - La Scie

Marked route from the exit of the gondola lift at the top of Vounetz. During the descent, you can admire the Dents Vertes mountain range on the right. In front of you, you will have plenty of time to admire the majestic summit of the Gros Brun.

The route is mainly downhill from the top station of the Charmey gondola lift. As you leave the gondola station, head south along the ski slope towards the Dents Vertes mountain range.

When you reach the pass (alt. 1565m) located at the foot of the Dent de Vounetz, follow the signs along the Rio de Tissineva. During the descent on the eastern slope of Vounetz, you will be able to recognize the main peaks of the Dents Vertes chain: the Dent de Vounetz (1812 m) and the Tour Ronde (1806 m). The route passes below the chalet “Tissiniva Derrey”; it continues through a wild valley, guarded by its severe and high sentinels – Vanil d’Arpille (2084m), Gros Brun (2104m) and the Pointe de Balachaux (1976m) and Patraflon (1915m). After crossing a fairy-tale forest, the route branches off to the NW, under the chalet de la Gissetta (1318m), to reach the departure of the chairlift on the hillside “La Scie”, which will take you back to Vounetz.

The route is easy and completely accessible for families. At the end of the trail, you have the choice between reaching your starting point via the chairlift or continuing your hike in the direction of Charmey, La Berra or Lac Noir.
