Snow Garden

The Jardin des Neiges is specially designed for children aged 3 to 5, whether they have never set foot on skis or have already had some experience of sliding. These lessons take place on a playground at the top of the gondola, which is equipped with a rolling mat.

Our experienced instructors know how to make learning to ski fun and stimulating for young skiers. Children will learn the basics of skiing while taking part in age-appropriate games and activities. Our emphasis is on fun learning and safety, giving children the chance to discover skiing in a positive and encouraging environment.

This course is suitable for all children aged between 3 and 5, whether or not they have already skied. At the beginning of the course, the instructors will divide the pupils according to their level.

What they will learn:

• Walking, turning and climbing on skis
• Slide down the slope with skis parallel and brake
• First change of direction from the slope line

There will be a break during the lessons, when a snack and hot drinks will be served.

At the end of the last lesson, a medal ceremony is organised with all the children. Progress is recorded in a logbook.

If your child is just starting out and is aged 6 or over, you can enrol him or her on the ” Beginner ” course in group course.

If you’re not sure about your child’s level, we suggest you enrol them on a private course.

You’ll find all the information on the different levels when you book a course.

At the start of each lesson, please report to the welcome centre at the foot of the gondola to confirm your attendance and receive a gown. The instructor won’t wait, so please be punctual!

Morning (school holidays and weekends)

• 09:10: meet at the bottom of the cable car, where the children will be picked up by the instructor
• 09.45: start of the course
• 11.45am: end of the course at the top of the cable car*.

Afternoon (Wednesdays and Carnival holidays FR/VD)

• 1.45pm: meet at the top of the gondola*.
• 2pm: start of the course
• 16:00: end of the course at the top of the cable car*.

*Up to the age of 8, children must be brought by an adult to the meeting point and picked up at the top of the gondola at the end of the lesson. From the age of 6, children may take the gondola on their own only with the explicit permission of a parent (to be given at the welcome centre). One adult per family is entitled to a free return ticket to accompany a child under 8.

3 courses: CHF 130 – 5 courses: CHF 180

• It is possible to take part in only part of the group lessons pack, but only the lessons at the beginning of the series. This avoids too great a difference in level between students and ensures that the instructor is able to meet the learning objectives over the full duration of the pack. • Prices are for a 2-hour lesson and do not include the lift pass. A preferential pass for 5 consecutive days can be purchased at the gondola reception desk.

• A few days before the course, explain to your child that he or she will be attending a course with other children and an instructor so that he or she can prepare for it.
• Remember to dress your child according to the weather. We remind you that a ski suit, gloves, helmet and goggles are mandatory. Don’t forget the sun cream !
• We count on you to be on time, both at the beginning and at the end of the course.
• We ask you not to follow the class so that your child is not distracted and can concentrate on the exercises.
• The aim is for the child to enjoy the class and to progress at his/her own pace. Learning should remain a pleasure !
